Disney's Brave Merida kid's Costume

My daughter picks out next year's costume while she is shopping for the current year's costume, she's only 5, but that is the way that little brain works!  So she's been talking about how she would be Merida from Brave since last year when she bought Jessie from Toy Story and here and there throughout the whole year.  [BTW, she says she'll be Pocahontas next year!]

This past September, when we took her to her 2nd Annual Disneyland birthday trip, she bought this bow and arrow at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney.  Then, last week we took her to our local Disney Store to get the costume and she also picked up the tiara (such a girly girl!).  We were lucky we bought the bow and arrow at Disneyland because they didn't have it at the Disney Store! I would have had a heartbroken little girl if she didn't get that key piece of the costume!

This picture was taken at our local mall on Sunday, we took her to the safe trick or treating event they do.  We looked for the orange hair wig but could not find it anywhere.  The next alternative was painting her hair orange with hair spray paint but she didn't like that idea so much.  She already has beautiful long curly hair anyway! <3

Below are pictures of her long hair and out eating ice cream after.

And this is my daughter with Merida at Disneyland. Sept 2012 and Sept 2013.

NYC New York Color Big Bold Gloss

"Pleasantly Plump Pink"
{Say that three times fast!! hehe, such a cute name though}

The first thing I loved about this lip gloss is the big fat tube it comes in!  And when you open it, the applicator is just as big as I expected!  It is so easy to pick up enough product to put on your lips in one swipe or pack it on and not take a bunch of applications to do so!

The gloss is kind of thick coming out of the tube on the applicator wand.  Once it's on your lips, it's a little sticky but it is so shiny! I love it!  Lip GLOSS should be shiny right?!
It sparkles and gives your lips shine from every angle.
The only thing is that this bottle looks more orangey in person and dare I say a nude shine on the lips.  I could not find the pink anywhere!  Nonetheless, it did look pretty cute on my lips!

Now, on to the scent, it has no scent.  It smells like whatever all it's ingredients smell like.  It's not fruity or perfumy.  It also has no taste.  I always prefer glosses with a flavor and smell just for the fun of it but this one was not unpleasant so it did not bother me.  However, after an hour or so of having it on my lips, I felt like I had an aftertase I otherwise would not have.  I had to keep popping mints because it tasted weird.
(I read somewhere a long time ago that plumping lip glosses have chili powder in them to swell up your lips and that is what I kept thinking about when I had this taste, [I HATE any kind of CHILI], however, I DO NOT KNOW IF THAT IS AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT IN THIS LIP GLOSS)

About the plumping:  I definitely felt the tingle, (and sort of a burn) right away.  [Plumping lip glosses have made me feel a burn in the past, I must have sensitive lips.]  My top lip is thiner than my bottom lip originally, so I feel like this did not plump my bottom lip a lot, but it plumped my top lip noticeably.  It looked like how celebrities lips look when they do bototx! Sort of fat and flat right on the cupids bow middle.
I was definitely happy with the visual plumping effect and results!

Oh and let me not forget that these retail around $3.99 (even a few cents cheaper if you get it at Wal-Mart)!! It is so worth a try! here is their website, so you can find out more info! NYC Big Bold Gloss

50 shades of Grey HAUL

So one day I went shopping with my best friend to our local mall and we came across all this awesome 50 shades of Grey stuff at our local ICING by Claire's.  There was way more stuff than this and I think we got it at like 75% off, but I think there was going to be no way to justify buying out the whole collection when we went home.  So this is all I picked up.

First thing I bought was a Tshirt that says LATERS Baby! #OMG!  It's in metallic silver letters!
It fits like any tshirt, but it's how you feel in it! HEHE..just kidding!
It's super cute and I will take care of it so I can wear it to the premier of the movie! LOL

Next, I picked up this super cute necklace.  It's like a charm bracelet but in a necklace form (which I like way more because charm bracelets can be annoying sometimes).  The first one is the word Fifty, next is the mask, then, handcuffs, a key and THE tie!
It's super cute and it represents the movie 100%!

Lastly, I picked up two bracelets.  They're both silver beads around, and one is handcuffs and the other is a metal plate that says I <3 Christian Grey.
Super cute to wear together and with other arm candy!! (:

Twisted hair ties/Knotted hair ties like Emi-Jay

A funny story about this type of hair tie. About a year and a half ago, when my sister and I had a pretty cool opportunity to work at the same cell phone store, I asked her for a hair tie on a bad hair day. She pulled out one of these in a pretty minty color. I put it on without much examination. Then, one day we were taking about this type of hair tie and the girls who got famous for inventing it and had a business or whatever, and she said "like the one I gave you" and I busted out laughing because I thought she had improvised that from a broken headband or something. I remember even the little knot and elastic that hangs off the side bothered me a little bit. Then, we started talking about the benefits of them and the design idea and I thought it was pretty cool. I thought they hit the jackpot because just by looking at them I could tell it was a piece of elastic knotted at the end. SO EASY!

Fast forward to about a month ago, I googled, I found, I ordered and received elastic and made these with my daughter. When I saw the elastic in person, it was confirmed that I picked out the most awesome colors, and she helped me cut while I knotted. It was so much fun!

I've never done a tutorial or DIY so I didn't venture out to try yet,  and I have set up an online store where I'm selling these at a pretty affordable price for anyone who would like to have them but can't make them and won't spend the $12 for 5 of the designer brand.

There is a few companies, such as goody, that sell them, I'm not just aiming to talk about the designer brand but as far as I know, they are the inventors and I guess I want to give them credit.

*SOME FACTS:
-They are supposed to not leave a crease in your hair but to be honest,  I still think they do,  but even goody's left a crease if I'm to be completely honest, so I'm not sure if it's the fact that it's a thicker kind of elastic or if its that I tie it too tight?
-they for sure look absolutely beautiful on your wrist! You can even stack them with bracelets as arm candy! (even my boss asked me what it was on my wrist)
-lastly,  I would say they are ouchless when it comes to taking them off a ponytail, definitely not a messy bun if you tangle it up in there like I do

Oh and you can buy at girlyonabudget.bigcartel.com!!
They start at $4.00 USD! [Sorry I can't ship internationally yet!]
Check out my store for more colors.  :)

Here is the pic of the awesome product I keep taking about! :)

FabKids Review

Subscription services are so much fun! You have stuff that not everyone has from their local mall shipped right to your door!
I find pieces that are as unique as me and are sure to be in my closet for a long time.

When I found out that JustFab had a subscription service for KIDS, I was so excited!  My daughter is usually always excited to open anything that comes in the mail for me [and no, I'm not a selfish mom that only buys shoes for myself, I take her shopping, but that's at a mall and she always prefers toys from the disney store anyway, so I end up spending double buying cute girly clothes and toys, but anyway!] being able to buy her something she can open up was awesome!  My little lady was so excited when I told her this was coming!

FabKids is a monthly subscription to get unique outfits for your daughter. (outfits for boys are coming up here soon in August!)  It costs $39.99 and from what I can see it always comes with 3 items; top, bottom and hair accessory.
For example, my daughters came with a dress, leggings and a headband.  I've seen a variation of her outfit that comes with shorts instead of leggings and a lot of the outfits come with a bow or hair flower instead of the headband.

You get new outfits in your fabshop on the 1st of the month and you have until the 10th to choose which one you want or to "Skip the month" because there is not commitment required.  Which is always good, for the months where splurging is not an option.
At that price, it's not the cheapest price around for an outfit for your kid, that wears it outside and grows out of it fast, I know.  But for a special party dress or birthday outfit, its a great option, and also the convenience of having something shipped out to you instead of shopping with a running toddler in a mall is nice.

The quality of the clothes is excellent!  The dress is a stretchy cotton that I'm sure is very comfortable, the leggings do not look cheap at all and neither does the headband.  My daughter is very active and it seems that the clothes move with her very well.  Sizing I felt was true to size.  And my daughter is one of the taller 4 yr olds I know, and everything was great on her!

Your order arrives in a super cute hot pink box with pink stars printed on the inside!!
Each piece is individually shipped in a plastic bag and everything has JustFab tags.
Just like the website says, half the fun was opening the box!

My daughter tried on the outfit right away and wore it as soon as she could, the next time we went out to the mall and to dinner.

I see this outfit transitioning into fall nicely with cute boots and a longsleeve under.

LEOPARD PRINT #OOTD H&M and Victoria's Secret PINK

I went from no leopards to two leopards!

I recieved my beautiful red shoes from shoedazzle the week before last and immediately stated thinking of ways to wear them. (I am reviewing my shoe dazzle shoes later)

The first and most obvious combo I could think of was with leopard print clothes.
So I was on the hunt!

That weekend, they had an awesome sale at H&M, buy two sale items, get one free, so I bought into it! (Which, after I thought about it, is not as good as 50% off sale items, but that comes later when the selection is much less)

One of the items I picked up was this leopard print long sleeve sheer** button up blouse.

I wore it with black dress pants and my new red shoes and was office ready!
my shoes actually looked like booties under the pants.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then I went to Victoria's Secret with my mom and found these awesome "Yoga Leggings" That I also picked up. (You can't see in the pictures, but they say PINK in small print all over next to the spots! <3)

I wore these with a sheer** black sleeveless button up and my black blazer with the new red shoes and didn't feel too office ready, but I wore it anyway!
I think with a longer blazer or even a longer top, I would feel better.  I probably won't be wearing them to work again. (Until the winter, with boots! YES!)
This outfit was instagram worthy that day! (:
**I always wear my sheer blouses with a tank top for the office, but I skip the tank top and put on a cute bra when I wear them to go out.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel that wearing these prints doesn't require much from the accessory department.
I wore a red and gold bow ring just because I felt like it with the leggings outfit but that's it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So after a not so extensive search on google, I found that most people said you call it Leopard print when the spots are more than one color and Cheetah print when the spots are only one color.

Which brings me to this conclusion, The Cheetah Girls on Disney Channel are the ones that confused me when I was growing up!  They were called the Cheetah girls but wore leopard print clothes in all colors all the time! What a contradiction! LOL

Knitted Cup Sleeves Review

I usually always get one of the cardboard cup sleeves at starbucks because either my drink is too hot or too cold for my hand.
So when my mom made me one of these knitted cup sleeves this past winter, I was happy and excited and honestly in that moment I didn't realize how handy it is.

Now, I keep it in my purse and put it on my drink right away when I go to starbucks or McDonalds for coffee.
In the picture they are shown with the reusable cup that starbucks came out with this past winter, it is a sort of thick plastic, and my hand would still get so hot when I would make hot chocolate that I started putting my sleve on it.
Of course it helps so you don't burn your hand with a hot drink, but in the summer, it helps so your hand doesn't get too cold and also it absorbs the condensation, (or sweat) on your cup.
Its pretty awesome and handy!!

I would recommend anyone to get this type of cup sleeve because it is very convenient.

You can get these specific ones at mrsamericaknits.bigcartel.com
Check out her store for other types of knitted items, such as Office Accessories.

SinfulShine with Gel Tech Nail Polish Review

I love this nail polish! I cannot believe I had never tried this brand!
The color I recieved* is not something I would have picked out myself from the shelf but its so pretty and toned down and appropriate to wear for work.

The formula is thick but not sticky at all. It goes on so smothly and covers so well. You really only need one coat to cover and look beautiful.

Nail polish usually doesn't last more than 1 or 2 days on my nails without chipping, and this nail polish definitely lasted longer!
The Gel Tech is what makes it so Shiny. I didnt even need to wear a top coat.
I am so impressed with this nail polish that I'll be buying more for sure!
I already got 2 in the first week since I discovered it!
Devious, a bright, beautiful red and Pragmatic, a really pretty lilac purple.

FACTS:
SinfulShine™ with Gel Tech™ is 5x shinier than a patent leather shoe!
Only $2.99!!!!
Exclusively availiable at Walgreens.
The one with the silver top is with Gel Tech and the black top is regular.

*I received my SinfulShine™ polish complimentary from Influenster.

Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles Review

On the left, the cute purple package that Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles come in!
On the right, my favorite High Heels with my Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles inside them!

I started working at an office in January of this year and wear heels almost every day, the beginning was so painful that I now wish I would have known about Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles before!!!

I used to only wear high heels when I went out on the town to a club or a bar, but my job has a business casual dress code so I get to wear heels and I love it, it's a small office so I get to practice my strut.

The shoes pictured are my 2nd 5 inch hell pair and I'm still getting used to them.
When I opened my Influenster Sunkissed Vox Box, as soon as I saw** my Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles, I knew they were going inside my studded platforms!  They're so comfortable now, my arch is supported, and the gel on the ball of the foot feels great! I can stand for longer than I could before because it's really making them more comfortable! :D

Thanks to these I'm also more confident. When I go out, I know that I won't lose my classiness and take off my heels anywhere but my house! (or maaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyybbbbbbeeee the car, depending how much walking I did...(; )

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream Review

The photo on the left is my BB cream, I love the box it comes in!
The photo on the right, is my before (right side) and after (left side) look using my BB cream.  No red skin!!

First of all, I want to say this BB cream smells sooooooooo good! As you're applying all you smell is like fruity and FRESH! (of course like it's name says! (: )

I love the light coverage it gives me, really that's all my skin needs. It makes me look a bit shiny but you can set that with a light powder and you're good to go, if your Tzone is oily like mine, no matter what you use, you will be a bit shiny.

I actually recieved** the Fair to Light color and it does not look too light on me, (I usually get Medium in other face product brands) I would say it adjusts very well to many skin tones!

I love all the benefits of this all-in-one skin-perfecting formula, I apply it with my foundation brush just because I don't like to get my fingers messy but it goes on just as well with your fingers, and it's quick to apply and cover!

I'm not scared to participate in the #nofilter trend because I feel covered enough without feeling like a cake face! :D

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics Review

I wanted some of these style hair ties from the "Designer" name, but I could not bring myself to pay $12 for 5! Then, I recieved** these in my Influenster #SunkissedVoxBox.  I put two of them on my wrist the next morning when I headed out to work and one in my 4-year-old daughter's hair in her favorite color, purple.

At work, my boss asked what they were, (I say these because they were catching attention, even in Neutral Colors!) I told him they were hair ties that doubled as bracelets!! (:  When I wear my hair down, by the afternoon I get this sudden urge to tie it up!  So I had a hair tie handy on my wrist as soon as I felt the urge.  I'm wearing one on my wrist as I type this! (;

These hairties hold up so well.  They don't leave a crease when you tie up your hair when it's dry, they're most definitely for sure OUCHLESS which is great, and they don't stretch out as fast as some other hair ties do.  The very first day that I wore them, they were a little tight both on my wrist and on my hair, but they do loosen up a bit within a few days.

I have fine hair and they held up my ponytail for the rest of the day and messy bun in the evening great!
By the time I saw my daughter when she got out of school though, her ponytail was lose, BUT she is a very active toddler that plays on the playground and also, her hair is fine but heavy because it's curly I think.

FACTS:
  • Soft, stretchy material that looks beautiful on the wrist or in the hair!
  • From America’s #1 elastics brand, Goody® Ouchless®
  • Unique knot style hair ties are perfect for personalizing or dressing up your look
  • 5 for $3.99!!
